I’m sitting here in front of my computer, compelled to write while I eat my dinner, because while Justin is at work and I have no television to watch, I find it’s a good alternative.  You see, normally when Justin works late, I eat my dinner in front of the television, usually catching up on shows on the DVR that I missed earlier in the week.  Tonight, however, I have no TV.  Why, you ask?  I have no TV because today while we were at work, our house was broken into and our TV was stolen.  While we feel very unfortunate that this happened, we also feel very fortunate that the only thing they took was the TV.  They actually took my jewelry box as well, but luckily I was wearing all the stuff I really care about.  These were men on a mission: drive up our driveway, pick the lock on the front door, steal the television off the wall, run into the bathroom and grab the jewelry box, throw it in the back of the truck, and peel out of the driveway.  Our neighbor happened to catch them peeling out of the driveway and we know they entered the front door, so this is how we imagine it playing out.  Madison, our fierce guard dog, was in the backyard and unfortunatly had no access to get inside and do anything about it.  I have to admit that I’ve never felt 100% safe in this neighborhood and always felt like it was a matter of time before this happened.  So what’s next?  Either we speed up our move to Ahwatukee or we seriously consider an alarm system.
